How do I watch a stream?
Quick answer
Choose Caller, pick Watch their stream, enter the Host and Port (or paste an srt:// link), then press Connect.
Connect
- Step 1: tap Caller.
- Step 2: choose Watch their stream.
- Host: the IP or name you were given.
- Port: the port you were given.
- Next through the steps, then Connect.
Paste a whole link
- Got an srt:// link? Paste it into the box on step 2.
- The fields fill in and it says Filled in from the link.
- Will dial: shows the exact link the app will use.
Latency, passphrase, stream ID
- Latency: how long the app waits so lost packets can be resent. 120 ms suits a local network. Use more over the internet.
- Latency is in milliseconds. Some links quote microseconds —
latency=5000000means type5000. - Passphrase: must match the other end. 10 to 79 characters. Leave empty if they have none.
- Stream ID: only if you were given one.
Save a connection
- Save… names the connection. It keeps the address, port, latency, passphrase and stream ID.
- Load saved brings one back.
- Same name replaces the old one.
- Recent (in Show all settings) lists your last connections. Swipe to delete one.
While it plays
- Speaker button and slider: mute and volume.
- Audio: pick the audio track, or Off.
- Video, SCTE-35 and CC turn the picture, ad-cue card and captions on or off.
- Stop ends the session. On the Mac, ⌘. also stops.
