What do connected parents and athletes see?

Last updated

Quick answer

Sessions, assignments, announcements, updates, and package summaries appear for the connected adult for each athlete — a parent or guardian, or an athlete aged 18 or over.

Publishing sends information to the adults connected to an athlete. For an athlete under 18 that’s their parent or guardian; for an athlete 18 or over it can be the athlete themselves.

Nothing is ever published to someone under 18. They have no account to receive it.

If nobody is connected to an athlete, there’s nobody to publish to. That’s a normal state, not an error.

What gets shared

  • Sessions — scheduled sessions involving that athlete appear automatically when you save them; you don’t press a separate publish button. A bookable slot appears too: the connected person sees the spots left and can claim one, and you see who claimed or declined.
  • Assignments — follow-up work you send, which the recipient can mark complete.
  • Announcements — messages to a team or group, which the recipient can mark read.
  • Updates — session updates you choose to share for a specific athlete.
  • Package summaries — the state of that athlete’s session packages, such as credits remaining.
  • Money — outstanding balances and payment requests. When you request payment for a package, the connected person sees the amount and due date on their Home screen, an Outstanding total across their athletes, and a Finance tile with their payment history.

A word on how credits move: a credit is used when a session finishes, not when it is booked. And a package sold at a particular session type only covers sessions of that type — group credits pay for group sessions, one-on-one credits for one-on-ones. The family sees their remaining credits update after each completed session.

How the connected person sees it

They use Team Assist too. On their own iPhone they install the app, confirm they’re 18 or over, choose the Athlete profile, and connect with the invite code you send — see inviting a parent or an adult athlete. Their Home screen opens on Today — how many sessions, who and when — with what Needs Attention right under it (payment requests, package warnings, assignments), then Upcoming sessions and four tiles: Assignments, Announcements, Packages, and Finance. Money is never buried: an outstanding balance or a payment request sits in Needs Attention, and the Finance tile carries the total and their payment history.

Each session is one card. While it needs an answer the card offers Accept and Decline (or Claim spot and Pass on a bookable slot); once answered, the card shows the answer and nothing else. Tapping the location opens directions; tapping the card opens the session, where Add to Calendar lives and where an answer can still be changed until the session starts.

The Teams tab lists their athletes, the coaches and trainers connected to the selected athlete (Manage shows every connection, + connects a new one), and that coach’s sessions. They can message you through team chat.

Messages lists one conversation per connected coach or trainer and one per team. A team appears once, under the hat that runs it — a second, empty copy of a team conversation was a defect and is gone in build 223.

Their app has its own notification bell for new items, and can show iPhone notifications if they allow them.

Taking something back

Publishing follows the source. Deleting a session removes it for the connected person too, and the same goes for assignments, announcements, updates, and package summaries — what they see tracks what’s actually in your app, rather than being a copy you’d have to chase. Removal is permanent on their side as well: a package you removed stays gone, even if the family later disconnects and reconnects. Expired packages are different — they stay visible as history until you remove them.

Disconnecting someone ends their visibility entirely — see who can see what.
