Something isn't working — what do I do?
Quick answer
For a photo that won’t read, try a straighter, brighter photo or type the words. For an unclear voice, download the free Ava (Enhanced) voice. Still stuck? Email support.
“No words found”
- Try a straighter, brighter photo. Fill the screen with the list.
- Or type the words under Words, one per line.
“Could not read that photo”
- Pick another photo, or take a new one.
Take a picture is grey
- This device has no camera. Use Photo or type the words.
The camera won’t open
- Allow the camera: Settings › Squishy Words › Camera.
- The photo stays on this phone.
The voice is hard to understand
- The app shows a card: “Hard to understand? A clearer voice is a free download.”
- Tap Open Settings.
- Go to Settings › Accessibility › Spoken Content › Voices › English › Ava (Enhanced).
- Download it. The app uses it next time.
No sound
- Check the speaker button on the player screen.
- Check the silent switch and the volume.
Players or coins are gone
- Players are saved on this device only. They do not move to a new device.
- Deleting the app deletes the players and lists.
