What is Team Assist?
Last updated
Team Assist is an iPhone app for coaches and trainers — scheduling sessions, managing a roster, running sessions, tracking billing, and sharing with connected parents and adult athletes.
Team Assist brings the parts of coaching that usually live in several different places into one app: who you work with, when you’re seeing them, what you do in the session, and what they owe.
When you first open it you choose how you’ll use it — as a Trainer (athletes, sessions, payments, packages, and notes), a Coach (teams, practices, games, attendance, notes, and simple payments), or an Athlete (for a parent, guardian, or adult athlete receiving updates from a coach or trainer).
The main areas are:
- Home — today’s sessions, follow-up items that need attention, and shortcuts into the rest of the app.
- Schedule and sessions — creating and managing sessions, including repeating ones, with optional syncing to your iPhone’s Calendar.
- Athletes and roster — a record for each person you coach, with parent or guardian contact details, notes, and history.
- Teams — groups of athletes, for practices, games, and group updates.
- Run Playbook — running a session block by block with a timer, from your iPhone or an Apple Watch remote.
- Finance center — session packages, payment requests, and payment records. Team Assist tracks money; it doesn’t move it.
- Publishing — sessions, assignments, announcements, and updates appear for the connected parent or adult athlete for each athlete.
- Team chat — text-and-emoji messaging with connected parents, adult athletes, teams, and staff.
There’s also an Apple Watch remote for Run Playbook (an optional feature you switch on), a Home Screen widget showing today’s sessions, and a share extension for importing a parent’s contact card from the Contacts app.
