One More Help

How do I play Versus against a friend?

Quick answer

On the Versus tab, pick a game, then who you’re playing. You each play one round on the same board; higher score wins. Versus is always free.

A versus result

Start a match

  • Pick a game on the Versus tab, then pick who you’re playing.
  • One round each, on the same board. Higher score wins.
  • Versus is always free. It never uses a play.

Who you can play

  • Someone you’ve played before.
  • A Game Center friend: Show my friends.
  • Anyone: Game Center finds a rival.
  • Same phone: pass it back and forth.
  • Text a friend (new in 1.2 — TestFlight build 12): play your round, then text them the link. They tap it, One More opens, and they play your board. One link, one friend.
  • Anyone, and someone’s already waiting? You’ll see “… is waiting” — play their board too.
  • Friend not in your list? Game Center only shows friends who have One More and allowed it. Text them a link instead.

Online timing

  • You play now, they play when they can.
  • Nobody has to be online at the same time.

Your matches

  • Sorted: Your turn first (the number on the Versus tab), then Waiting on them, then Finished.
  • Finished shows the latest 3. See all for the rest.
  • Rematch: when a match ends, both players see a rematch button on that match — same game, new board.
  • Rivals: switch to Rivals for one line per person with your record (wins–losses). Tap one for your matches with them, a rematch, or a new match.
  • Finished matches tidy away after 7 days. Your wins, losses and rival records stay.

Remove a match

  • New in 1.2 — TestFlight build 12.
  • Tap the trash on its row.
  • Finished or nobody joined: it just goes.
  • Someone’s already playing you: it counts as your loss and their win.

Scoring rules

  • Untimed games (Stackit, Doubles, Swap 3, Tower) get a 90-second clock in versus.
  • Online versus scores count on the game boards — your round goes on that game’s Game Center board and your best.
  • Same-phone versus doesn’t count.
  • Tic-Tac-Toe is different (new in 1.2 — TestFlight): you take turns on one board, one move each turn. See Tic-Tac-Toe.
