How do I report a problem?
Last updated
Use Report a Bug inside the app (Tools → Settings → Help), or email support with what you expected, what happened instead, and the steps to reproduce it.
The easiest route is inside the app: Tools → Settings → Help → Report a Bug. It captures what’s currently on your screen and opens a pre-filled email with the details attached, so you only have to describe what went wrong.
You can also email appstoresupportwithasmile@icloud.com directly.
What separates a report that gets fixed from one that doesn’t is reproducibility. “Chat is broken” is hard to act on. “Sent a message on Wi-Fi, the retry banner appeared and stayed up for ten minutes, message arrived eventually” describes something that can be traced.
Worth including:
- What you expected, what happened, and the steps in between.
- Roughly when it happened, which helps enormously for anything sync-related.
- Your iPhone model and iOS version, from Settings, then General, then About.
- A screenshot if there’s something visible — the in-app route attaches one for you.
If the app crashed, say roughly when; and if iOS offers to share crash data with app developers, allowing it is genuinely useful.
If you installed Team Assist through TestFlight, TestFlight’s own Send Beta Feedback is also worth using — it attaches device, build, and log details automatically.
