What does a staff member see when they connect?

Quick answer

A staff member connects with a code, the same way a family does. They get their team’s sessions, announcements, assignments, and chat — and none of the family-only details.

Staff — an assistant coach, a trainer who helps with a team, a team manager — join Team Assist the same way a family does: with an invite code from you. There is no staff account and nothing to sign up for. They install the app, enter the code and their phone number, and they’re connected.

Inviting a staff member

  1. On the Athletes tab, switch the list to Staff and add the person (or open them if they’re already there). Enter their phone number — the invite is tied to it.
  2. Assign them to at least one team. A staff invite is always for a team; without one there is nothing to share.
  3. Under Team Assist Access, tap Invite to Team Assist. Send them the 10-character code — Text Invite Code does it in one tap.

Only a coach profile can invite staff. The invite can be deactivated later from the same section; a deactivated invite stops sharing immediately.

What they get

Once connected, a staff member sees, for the team they were invited to:

  • Sessions — every practice, game, or session on that team’s schedule, plus any session you put them on directly.
  • Announcements — team announcements, as you send them.
  • Assignments — assignments addressed to the team.
  • Chat — a direct thread with you, and the team thread.

They see athlete names, so the roster reads properly. They do not see anything that belongs to a family: guardian names and phone numbers, packages, balances, payments, availability requests, or parent updates. That boundary is enforced on the server, not just hidden on the screen.

What they can’t do

A staff member is a participant, like an athlete. They cannot edit the schedule, change the roster, see finance, or invite anyone. Anything they need changed, they ask you.

Removing a staff member

Deactivate their invite from the Team Assist Access section, or mark them inactive. Either stops the sharing; deleting the staff record removes them from the team lists too.
