How do I add players, teams and assistant coaches?

Last updated

Quick answer

Teams tab: add players with Add Athlete, group them into teams, and add assistant coaches under Staff. Each player has one record with their family’s contact details.

As a coach, your roster lives on the Teams tab.

The Teams page

Four tiles read your roster at a glance: Active players, how many Teams, how many families have Access (connected), and your Staff. Below them a switch flips the list between players, Teams, and Staff, with Add Athlete next to the list.

Tap a player to open their page: their team, Active / Connected, attendance, and Quick Actions — Assignments, Checklists, Message, Info, Progress, and Access, where their family’s invite lives.

Adding a player

Tap Add Athlete, type the player’s name, a parent’s name and phone, then Save. Nothing else is required; a player with no family connected still works for practices, games and attendance. Have a whole roster in a spreadsheet? See adding a team from a spreadsheet.

Teams

Teams are how practices and games find their players: pick the team in the session builder and everyone on it comes along. A player has a primary team and can be on others too.

Assistant coaches

Switch the list to Staff and tap Add New Assistant Coach. To give them the team’s practices, games, announcements and chat on their own phone, send them an invite from Team Assist Access — see what a staff member sees.

Removing someone

Set a player Inactive to take them off your active list; that’s reversible. Delete Athlete (under Danger Zone) is permanent: it removes the record, its attendance and requests, and takes them off their sessions. Team Assist keeps a backup snapshot first, restorable from Tools → Settings → Backup.
