Who can use Team Assist?

Quick answer

Team Assist is for adults — coaches and trainers, parents or guardians, athletes 18 or over — and for athletes 15 to 17 that a parent adds with a QR. Athletes under 15 don’t have accounts.

How-to: first launch as a parent or athlete. Demo data.

Team Assist is for adults, and for athletes 15 to 17 that a parent adds. There are four kinds of user:

  • Coaches and trainers — the people running sessions.
  • Parents and guardians — an adult acting in relation to an athlete under 18.
  • Athletes aged 18 or over — using it for themselves.
  • Athletes 15 to 17 — on their own phone, added by their parent with a QR code. They see their schedule and chat, as an athlete only. No packages, no balances, no coach or trainer tools, and they cannot connect to a coach on their own.

Athletes under 15 are not users. They don’t have accounts, don’t sign in, and don’t appear in messages. Their coach keeps a record for them in the app, and where there’s anything to discuss, it happens with their parent or guardian.

What this means when you sign up

You’ll be asked your age once: 18 or older, an athlete 15 to 17, or under 15.

On iOS 26 and later, Apple handles that check and tells us only which of those you are — never your date of birth. On earlier versions, where Apple’s check isn’t available, you confirm it yourself. Either way we never see or store a date of birth.

If you decline Apple’s check, or are under 15, the app won’t open. An athlete 15 to 17 gets the athlete view only, and joins through a parent — see adding a phone to your family.

If you coach athletes under 18

Nothing stops you. Add them to your roster and work with them as you would anyone else — sessions, teams, billing and notes all work normally.

The difference is that the athlete has no account. If you want a parent or guardian to see what you publish, or to message you about their child, invite them and they’ll have their own account.

You don’t have to invite anyone. An athlete record works perfectly well on its own.
