How do I make chores and mark them done?
Quick answer
A parent taps New Chore, picks who does it and how often, and taps Create. The child taps Mark Done; if approval is on, a parent taps Approve to give the points.
Make a chore (parents)
- Tap New Chore on Home or the Chores tab.
- Title: what the chore is. Add Instructions if you want.
- Points: set how much it’s Worth.
- Assigned to: turn on each child who does it.
- More than one child? Pick Each child does it or Take turns.
- Tap Create.
Schedule options
- Repeats: One time, Daily, Certain days, Weekly, Monthly, or Every N days.
- Has a due time: turn on to set Due by.
- If it’s missed: Skip it, Stay available, or Roll to next day.
How it’s checked off
- Requires: Just check it off, Check off + note, or Enter an amount (like minutes read).
- Parent approval required: on by default. Points wait for a parent.
Mark a chore done
- Child: on Home, find it under Today, tap Mark Done, then Done.
- Parent for a child: on the Chores tab under Today, tap Mark Done.
- Waiting on a parent shows until it’s approved.
Approve or decline (parents)
- On Home, see Chore approvals.
- Tap Approve to give the points.
- Tap Decline, type a Reason, tap Submit.
- Made a mistake? On the Chores tab, tap Undo on an approved chore and give a reason.
Change or remove a chore
- Chores tab > All Chores. Tap Edit or Remove.
- Remove stops it from now on. Points already earned stay.
