How do rewards and points work?
Quick answer
Parents make rewards with a point cost. Kids tap Redeem when they have enough points; if approval is on, a parent approves it on Home.
Make a reward (parents)
- Tap New Reward on Home or the Rewards tab.
- Title: what they get. Add a Description if you want.
- Cost: how many points it takes.
- Icon: tap one.
- Parent approval required: on by default.
- Limited quantity: turn on to cap how many are available.
- Only certain children: turn on to show it to some kids only.
- Tap Create.
Redeem a reward
- Open the Rewards tab.
- Parent? Pick the child at the top first.
- Tap Redeem, then Confirm.
- Redeem is greyed out until there are enough points.
- Needing approval? It shows under My requests (or the child’s requests) until a parent decides. Tap Cancel to take it back.
Approve a reward (parents)
- On Home, see Reward requests.
- Tap Approve, or Decline with a reason.
Save up for a goal
- Tap Set Goal on a reward.
- The goal and progress show on the child’s Home.
Points vs available
- Available is what can be spent now.
- Points held for a waiting reward request are not available.
Add or take away points (parents)
- On Home, tap Adjust next to a child.
- Type an amount: like 10, or -10 to take away.
- Type a reason and tap Save.
See the history
- Activity tab: every point earned, spent, held, reversed or adjusted.
- Kids see only their own.
